How do I assign items to the kitchen printer?

After a menu download, any new menu items that are required to print to the kitchen will need to be assigned to the Kitchen Printer through Aura. If this is not done, the printer will not print the items.

Follow these steps to assign items.

  1. Open Backoffice.

  2. Click Lists > Menu > Kitchen Printer Wizard. 

Items displayed on the left column are Unassigned

3. To assign an item, click the item’s checkbox (Click All if assigning all items) on the left window, then click the Kitchen printer you wish to assign it to on the right. 

Click Assign selected items to the selected printer. If the items disappear from the left, then they have been assigned.


Unassigning or Re-assigning menu items to Printers.

Once an item has been assigned via the Kitchen Printer Wizard, it will be cleared from the list of unassigned menu items in the Item Pritner Wizard. As a result, if it has been assigned to the wrong printer, it will need to be re-assigned under the Menu Items screen.

In Backoffice, go to Lists > Menu > Items. Click the Other tab:

The Printers panel at the bottom of the tab indicates if the selected item is assigned to the printer.

By Right-Clicking the printer, you will be presented with a list of options:

  • Assign to all items will assign this printer to ALL menu items

  • Assign to a category will allow you to bulk-assign a menu category to a printer

  • Clear all items will unassign the printer to all items

  • Clear all items in a category will allow you to bulk-unassign a menu category from a printer
