Installing and adding your printers to CounterPOS

When doing the printers, you will first need to check which printer will you be using, below is a list of each printer, once you have identified the printers scroll down to the instruction for that specific printer:

 

Ethernet Printer

 

Serial Printer

Each of the above printers has different methods of self-installation. Please follow the instructions below based on the printer you will be using.


Ethernet Printer

Visit the below web page on the server computer:

Click on Mobile POS, then click on Printing.

 

Toggle Print Kitchen to be "On".

 

Select the drop-down for Print Server and select the server's IP address. Change the Printer to Kitchen and click on the Print server settings.

 

Once the new tab has opened select the newly added Kitchen printer by clicking on View (If there is no Kitchen printer shown, click on Add New.)

 

To edit the information, click on Edit this printer.

 

Change the following:

  • Printer Category: Production

  • Connectivity: Network

  • Address: Add the printers IP address (This will be shown on the printer’s self-test page)

To print a self-test page on the printer. Power it off and hold down the feed button while powering the printer on again until the error light flashes. 

Then release the feed button and press it again once. The test page will then print. Locate the IP address on the test page.

  • Model: Epson

  • Type: Narrow

Click on Save Changes.

Go back to the management page, click on Save, then Test Print.

 

It should then print a test page. If nothing prints, please go back and make sure you have made all the correct changes.


Serial Printer

If the serial printer is connected to the server computer, follow the below steps:

Visit the below web page on the server computer.

Click on Mobile POS, then click on Printing.

 

Toggle Print Kitchen to be "On"

 

Select the drop-down for Print Server and select the server's IP address.

Change the Printer to Kitchen and click on the Print server settings.

 

Once the new tab has opened select the newly added Kitchen printer by clicking on View (If there is no Kitchen printer shown, click on Add New.)

 

To edit the information, click on Edit this printer.

Change the following:

  • Printer Category: Production

  • Connectivity: Direct to port

  • Address: COMPORT (Port being used), (Baud rate)

Press and hold the Windows key then press the R key once on the keyboard.

 

This will then open the Run window:

 

If you use the Windows key + R and nothing shows up, you can access the Run window by going to the Start screen and start typing the word run. Then, click the Run search result.

 

Older versions of Windows click the Start button and type the word “runin Start Menu's search box. Then, click the Run search result.

 

Type cmd and click on OK:

In the CMD window type dir>com1 and press enter

if the printer cannot be found you will see the below error "The system cannot find the file specified"

You will need to try each port starting with dir>com1 then dir>com2 then dir>com3 until you find the correct port.

When the correct port has been found it will print a test page and will not give the above error.

 

To get the "Baud Rate", print a self-test page on the printer. Power it off and hold down the feed button while powering the printer on again until the error light flashes. Release

  • Type: Narrow

Then click on Save Changes.

 

Go back to the management page, click on Save, then Test Print.

It should then print a test page. If nothing prints, please go back and make sure you have made all the correct changes.


USB Printer

When setting up the USB printer you will need to check first:

 

Is the USB printer connected to my server or to a till?

If the USB printer is connected to the server computer, follow the below steps:

Download the following file and install it on the server.

 

 

Run the downloaded application. Click Yes to check for updates.

Select Options.

 

Select List All Devices.

 

Use the long drop-down box to find the USB printer.

 

Once you have selected the USB printer, use the right-hand arrows to scroll down to libusb-win32.

 

Now use the downwards arrow to select Install Driver.

 

Once you have selected to Install Driver, you can now select Replace Driver.

 

Wait for the driver to install.

 

Once the driver has installed, select Close.

 

In the bottom left corner, you will see the Driver Installation status. If Success, then close the application.

 

Once you have closed the application you will need to restart the Mobile Integration services.

 

Press and hold the Windows key +R key on the keyboard.

 

This will then open the Run window:

 

In the Run window type services.msc and click on OK.

 

The Services window will open.

 

Scroll down the list of services until you find MobileIntegration.

 

Select MobileIntegration and click Restart the service.

Once the service has restarted you can close the services window and continue with the below steps.

Open the below web page on the server computer.

 

Click on Mobile POS, then click on Printing.

 

Toggle Print Kitchen to be "On"

 

Select the drop-down for Print Server and select the server's IP address.

Change the Printer to Kitchen and click on the Print server settings.

Once the new tab has opened select the newly added Kitchen printer by clicking on View (If there is no Kitchen printer shown, click on Add New.)

 

To edit the information, click on Edit this printer.

 

Change the following:

  • Printer Category: Production

  • Connectivity: USB

  • Address: For a USB printer the address is left blank

  • Model: Epson

  • Type: Narrow

 

 

Then click on Save Changes.

 

Go back to the management page, click on Save, then Test Print.

 

It should then print a test page. If nothing prints, please go back and make sure you have made all the correct changes.
