Famous Brands is introducing a small but significant change to stock in the upcoming menu release. The item D DEB Streaky Bacon 6 x 1kg CS (1019360) is going to replace D Bacon Strips Frozen-6x1kg-Deb (M002) in the recipes of all items that used it.
This change will have a few important effects that need to be understood:
Stock variance history involving bacon will be affected. Reports use the current recipe structure to calculate variances, so running the Variance report for earlier periods will show variances for bacon.
This will also apply for GP reports, as the GP report is also calculated from current recipes.
We recommend printing out any important or relevant stock and variance reports BEFORE this menu update to preserve accurate records.
Due to this change, theoretical stock will start calculating on the item D DEB Streaky Bacon 6 x 1kg CS. In order to account for this, we recommend transferring all of your stock of Bacon Strips to Streaky Bacon AFTER the menu has updated.
Follow the below steps to transfer the bacon item.
NOTE: If you already do stock transfers and have external stock locations set up, you can skip to step 3 and use an existing external stock transfer location
Step 1: Set up an external stock transfer location.
a. In Backoffice, click Lists > Stock > Stock Locations
b. Click the + to add a new location.
c. Enter the name "SWAP" for the location.
d. Tick "External" and enter your password.
Step 2: Assign the Bacon items to the locations.
a. Click Lists > Stock > Items Per Locations
b. Under Stock Location, select "Swap"
c. Search "Bacon"
d. Select the old Bacon Strips item and the new Streaky Bacon and click "<" to move it over to the "Stock Included in SWAP" panel.
Step 3: Transfer Bacon stock
a. Click Activities > Stock > Transfer Stock.
b. Set the FROM and TO locations. This will be different depending if your store is STANDALONE or part of a COMBO Setup.
For Standalone Stores:
Set the FROM location to Default and the TO location to SWAP.
Click the + to add a new entry. Search for your Bacon Strips item. Add the total quantity of your Bacon in stock and click OK.
Your old bacon item has been transferred OUT.
3. Now, set the FROM location to SWAP and the To Location to Default
4. Click the + to add a new entry. Search for the new Streaky Bacon item. Add the total quantity of your Bacon in stock and click OK.
Your new bacon item has been transferred IN.
For Combo Stores:
Set the FROM location to Debonairs and the TO location to SWAP.
Click the + to add a new entry. Search for your Bacon Strips item. Add the total quantity of your Bacon in stock and click OK.
Your old bacon item has been transferred OUT.
Now, set the FROM location to SWAP and the To Location to Debonairs
Click the + to add a new entry. Search for the new Streaky Bacon item. Add the total quantity of your Bacon in stock and click OK.
Your new bacon item has been transferred IN.
